Senior Management
Deepak Chopra
Chief Executive Officer
Appointed to the Board as an Executive Director in July 2005. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Spacelabs Healthcare, Inc. Deepak is also the founder of OSI Systems, Inc. where he currently serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since its inception in May 1987. Previously to that he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ILC Technology, Inc. Deepak has also held various positions with Intel Corporation, TRW Semiconductors and RCA Semiconductors. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and a Master of Science degree in Semiconductors Electronics from the University of Massachusetts.
Alan Edrick
Chief Financial Officer
Mr Edrick was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in September 2006. Mr. Edrick has more than 18 years of financial management and public accounting experience including capital raisings, mergers and acquisitions, financial planning and analysis, and regulatory compliance. He most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of BioSource International, Inc, a leading biotechnology company, until its sale to Invitrogen Corporation. Previously, Mr. Edrick was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at North American Scientific, Inc., a medical device and specialty pharmaceutical company. Prior to that, from 1989 to 1998, Mr. Edrick worked at Price Waterhouse LLP in various positions including Senior Manager, Capital Markets. Mr. Edrick received his B.A. degree from UCLA and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School at UCLA.
David Tilley
Chief Operating Officer
Appointed to the Board as an Executive Director in July, 2006, David is responsible for implementing a consistent and integrated approach across the company in the following areas: Manufacturing; Supply Chain and Distribution; Information Technology; Quality Assurance; Regulatory Assurance; Human Resources. He has a strong background in finance as well as experience in manufacturing, operations, and supply chain management. David worked previously within Datex-Ohmeda and its predecessor companies for more than two decades.
Joseph Davin
Group President, North American Operations
Joe is responsible for the sales, marketing, service and customer support teams for the U.S. and Canadian channels. He is also in charge of the product development and global marketing of the Patient Monitoring & Connectivity product group. Prior to joining Spacelabs Medical he served as the General Manager, Critical and Emergency Care for Datex-Ohmeda, North America. He has over 25 years experience in the medical equipment industry.
Nicholas Ong
Group President, Emerging Markets Operations
Nicholas is responsible for the sales, marketing, service and customer support teams for the Asia/Pacific, India and Latin America channels. He is also in charge of the product development and global marketing of products manufactured in the Emerging Markets area. Prior to this appointment, Nicholas was responsible for the Anesthesia Delivery & Ventilation product group and Spacelabs Medical strategic marketing and business development. He has 19 years of experience in the diagnostics and medical equipment industry. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from the Henley Management College in the UK.
Jim Roop
President, Clinical Trial Services
Jim is in charge of the Company’s Clinical Trial Services business. He previously served as Vice President and General Manager of US monitoring sales for Spacelabs Medical and, following the acquisition by Instrumentarium Corp., as Vice President of corporate accounts for Instrumentarium and Datex-Ohmeda. Jim has over 20 years experience in the healthcare industry.
Gary Grenter
Group President,
Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) Operations
Gary is responsible for the sales, marketing, service and customer support teams for the EMEA channels. He is also in charge of the product development and global marketing of the Diagnostic Cardiology and Anesthesia Delivery & Ventilation product groups. He joined the Company as part of the July 2006 acquisition of Del Mar Reynolds where he had served as Group President since 2004. Prior to joining Ferraris, Mr. Grenter served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Kyphon Inc. and Biolectron, Inc.
Roy Hays
Chief Technology Officer
Roy as CTO is responsible for the acquisition and development of technology that supports business outcomes, productivity and growth. Part of his role is to ensure that the technology visions of the entire Group are aligned where appropriate and that all Group companies employ best practices. Roy has more than 25 years experience in the medical products field, including 18 years at Spacelabs Medical, where he served as Vice President of Product Development.
Victor Sze
Company Secretary and General Counsel
In addition to his position as Company Secretary and General Counsel for Spacelabs Healthcare, Victor serves as the Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of OSI Systems, Inc. a position he has held since 2002. Victor previously served as in-house counsel of Interplay Entertainment Corp. He practiced law with Los Angeles based Wolf, Rifkin & Shapiro after receiving his juris doctorate from Loyola Law School.
Karita Salokangas
Associate General Counsel
In addition to her position as Associate General Counsel for Spacelabs Healthcare, she serves as Associate General Counsel of OSI Systems, Inc, a position she has held since 2004. Karita previously served as Director of
Legal Affairs of Datex-Ohmeda Division, Instrumentarium Corporation. After receiving her Master of Laws decree at the University of Helsinki
(Finland), she was trainee Judge at the Espoo District Court.
